Hi Friends!
Chef Emoji here and today we’re going to make my favorite peanut butter snackies.
This is a great healthy snackie for you and–if you’re in the sharing mood–your human too! We love it because you can easily customize this recipe to fit your dietary needs and preferences.
First things first, things you’ll need:
1 cup of peanut butter
We found that smooth or fresh ground peanut butter works best, but if you like your peanut butter like you like your pugs then bring on the chunky!
1 cup of yogurt
Lady prefers to use coconut yogurt, but Greek yogurt works great too! Coconut and Greek yogurt have the best consistency when rolling all of the ingredients together
2-2.5 cups of rolled oats
If you’re in the doghouse with your pup and can’t find rolled oats, quick oats will do, but rolled oats are the preferred option. At the bottom, I’ll let Lady tell you difference about rolled vs. instant oats.
Now the fun stuff!
Step 1: Find a comfortable spot to supervise your human. If you’re a human, then make sure your supervisor is comfy.
Step 2: Add 1 cup of rolled oats into the mixing bowl then 1 cup of yogurt.
Step 3: Next you’re going to add 1 cup of the rolled oats and leave the .5 cup for later. Follow that with the peanut butter
Step 4: Mix! If the mixture is a little too goopy, add in the extra rolled oats until you’re happy.
Step 5: Have your human roll the peanut butter snackies into balls.
Step 6: Once your human is done mixing, test the peanut snackie balls to ensure quality.
Step 7: Enjoy your fresh snackies with some cuddles with your human! Don’t forget to lick the mixing bowl clean.
Now a note from Lady about instant oats vs. rolled oats:
The biggest difference is instant oats are pre-cooked and dried so they will cook faster. Since there’s no cooking with this recipe, I prefer the rolled oats because of their texture and they hold liquid a better.
